Mason Jar Make up Brush Holder

So, I've seen this project pop up on Pinterest quite a few times and FINALLY decided to do it as part of the update to our master bathroom (which is almost done by the way!)

All you need is a mason jar (so many have popped up at my house lately and I don't know where they're coming from…), gold spray paint or any color you want really, and some coffee beans!  I paid more for the coffee beans than for the spray paint though…even for the cheapest brand; why are they so expensive??

I taped off the top half of the jar with painters tape & spray painted the bottom half.  It only took one coat and a few touch up sprays.

Add the coffee beans and your makeup brushes and you're finished! :)

Chalkboard Spice Jars

This cute little project is a cheap simple update to do for your kitchen!  I got the idea from and followed the directions from Raising Up Rubies.

I don't have that many spices in my house to begin with {I'm not a big cooker}, so I only made 6 spice jars.  I bought a set of twelve 4oz jelly jars from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for 10$!  Walmart and Target have them as well, but my Walmart was all out!  They must be popular.
I got chalkboard spray paint and the aqua spray paint {obviously, choose any color you want!} from Walmart for 3$ and some change.  Hobby Lobby had multicolored chalk pieces for 1$ but writing with chalk on a small space is more difficult {and unattractive!} than you would think.  I'll be searching for a chalk marker in the near future.
Just spray a couple coats of any color on the outer metal lid of the jars {mine took quite a few coats!} I only had to spray 2 coats of the chalkboard spray on the metal middle part of the lids.  I let all the pieces dry overnight and then put them back on the jars!

Y'all…I really need a better camera.  I also need to get some cute little scoops to get the spices out with!

A Little Fitness and Food

Everyone wants to get in the gym and diet like there's no tomorrow, but if you're anything like me, you're all "fit crazy" and motivated for about one month max and then you get bored or burn out on it.
In fact, I just got started back today after going 3 weeks straight previously, which inspired this post :)
I've read many times that a good motivator is to set a goal you want to reach and then treat yourself to a prize of some sort.  So, I thought I would make a printable that allows you to document what workout you did {if any} on a day and if you ate healthy that day.  At the bottom of the page {which has one week on it}, you write in what prize you earned for doing well that week!

You put a checkmark in the box if you worked out and a little description of your workout {i.e. arms and cardio} in the "workout" column.  Then you circle the letters under "clean meals" for each meal that was healthy.  It says "clean meals" because clean eating is a common diet and the one that I'm {trying} to stick to, but it can count for whatever diet you're on!
I actually have this amazing online trainer who gives you a custom workout plan, nutrition guide and fitness advice! Here is her twitter:  @katyhearnFit  Her instagram name is katyhearnfit also.  Check out her instagram to see how much 4 weeks of working with her can do for you!  There's no magic pill or vibrating belly band {who came up with that anyway??} with this girl; she'll give you 100% if you give her 100% :)

As far as clean eating goes, I am NO expert by any means and still trying to figure it out, but I have found that Target has a great selection of foods that are considered clean {that aren't just fresh produce!}
Later on, I'll form a grocery list with the specifics {when I'm more knowledgable} but for now I'll tell you that my understanding of clean eating is that the foods you buy should have a VERY short ingredient list with no crazy chemical names you can't pronounce!
Don't forget to avoid all fast food, of course and sodas!

Lighted Pumpkin Cube for Halloween

Here's another Fall craft for y'all!  It's a personal favorite of mine because its so easy :)

All you need is any size clear block with a hole in the back {I purchased mine from Hobby Lobby}, one pack of white Christmas lights, some pretty orange tulle from your favorite craft or fabric store, a small bottle of black paint, and a small paintbrush.
Paint a cute or scary pumpkin face {or maybe even a monogram initial!} on the side of your clear block that does not have the hole in it.  Allow to dry.
Stuff your lights inside using the hole in the back and then stuff the tulle inside.  You might have to do some adjusting to get the tulle around the lights the way you want it.  Plug in and enjoy :)

Home Decor Binder

Today I went out to get some mud to patch up the ceiling in the master bathroom that we recently scraped. Of course, when I go out for one thing, I come home with 10.  So, I wandered around the paint section of Lowe's with thoughts of repainting our entire house in my head.  I picked out quite a few paint swatches to bring home :)

Then I ventured to Target…I really shouldn't be allowed in there.  After fumbling around with my swatches while I tried to compare them with items I liked, I decided I needed to organize all my house decor ideas/colors in one portable book so I can always pull them out when I see something that I think might belong in my house!

Which led me to the home office aisles of Target...which is where I found the cutest navy & gold mini binder and Avery page slips - just the solution I needed.

I can't count how many times I've been out just looking around and happened across some appealing decoration or bedding and either passed it by because I wasn't sure if it would match or bought it and had to immediately return it because it DEFINITELY didn't match.

In fact, I bought these pretty bright eggshell blue sheets from Target the other day and {over-eagerly} put them on my bed…only to find that not only did it not harmonize but it was a complete EYE SORE.  Not to mention I did all this right before bed, so you can imagine my disappointment and annoyance when I had to undo and redo my bed all over again!
Luckily, Target let me return the sheets and I purchased a dark navy version instead, which are now on my bed and so far I love them :)

Having paint swatches of the colors, currently in my house {not shown above} and the colors I plan on putting in certain rooms, with me will ensure I can check for harmony before making a purchase!

Monogrammed Pumpkins for Fall Decor

Fall is on the horizon and Halloween is approaching!

One of my favorite things about this time of year is Halloween craft night with my wonderful friends.

Last year, we did various projects but the one that turned out the best was monogrammed pumpkins!  They were the cutest Halloween decorations I've ever seen :)

All you need to do is pick a perfect pumpkin {say that 3 times fast!}, purchase a small bottle of paint and a bottle of spray paint in the colors of your choice from your local craft store, a round sponge in any size you want, a small paintbrush to do your letter with, and some ribbon to finish it off!

First, I spray painted my pumpkin a creamy white color.  After it dried, I lightly drew my letter in the center of the front of my pumpkin {pencil is a good choice for that!}.

Then I traced the letter in black paint and sponged on orange and black dots.  I tied an orange and white polka dot bow on top and success!
It really is funny how proud I was of myself :)

Below is mine, up close, before I added the black polka dots to it.  I had to initiate some self control after the black dots and put the paint down before I ruined it!

I actually drew my letter on the pumpkin in pen before I painted it…seemed like a great idea until I remembered that you can't erase pen -_- {note the sneaky pen loop sticking out at the bottom}

I'm sure I'll be sharing some more Fall craftiness with you later this season!

Free Printable: Pet Sitting

I have searched all over the internet for a cute pet sitting information form.  I've found plenty!  They just weren't the most attractive things in the world…

So, if you want something done a certain way, do it yourself, right? Right :)

I made my own pet sitting information printable for everyone to use and it's pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

Free Printable: Server Pad

Click to get it!
This is my first printable so hopefully I did it right!

I'm a server at a locally owned eclectic restaurant and I haven't been one for very long.

I can honestly say I have a new respect for servers; it's a hard job!

But cute stuff always makes anything better, so how about a cute notepad for taking orders to make the shift more fun?

It is sized to 4 inches by 10 inches so it should fit fine, if not then the margins are just white space so it can definitely be cut to fit in your server book :)

Oh & if you print it "2-up" then you should be able to fit two on a page!

If y'all have any suggestions on it for me, or something else you would like me to make then feel free to comment!
